mChild helping achieve MDG by reducing by two-thirds the under-five mortality rate

This is a utility application used to help mothers remind them when to take back their child for vaccinations.

The notifications currently only work for mothers in Kenya. Apart from notifications the application also give child development milestones and also basics that a young mother is supposed to know about their child.

This application was made to be able to help achieve the MDG 4: “Reduce by two-thirds, between 1990 and 2015, the under-five mortality rate” This is done by use of reminders on when to take back the child for their vaccines and also general information in bring up the infant well.

It is a compliment to the sms based application that just sends notifications. This one also gives the mother more information about the infant and also shows her the child development milestones.

Why I like programming for windows phone.

Haven't been programming for windows for a long time now, but am looking at a bright future with microsoft. This is one programing language that I feel listens to my needs as a developer. with laid down rules on how to do things, fluid displays, streamline scrolling, bright colours. There is nothing to like about this platform. Applications that would take me months in other language take me less time when doing them for windows.  I would like to hear your story too... why do you like developing window phone applications?
